In memory of my late husband

Today, 21st October 2022, would have been Yasin’s 45th birthday.

However, exactly a month before his 37th birthday, while we were at the Westgate Mall, he spent a lot of time at the electronics department of the Nakumatt supermarket. He said, “I want to buy a nice lamp for the sitting room; one that automatically turns on when the electricity goes off, so that you and Amaya will not be in the darkness.” 

That is a small snippet of the life of a loving father and husband, who was brutally murdered at the Westgate terrorist attack on 21st of September 2013.

Yasin, you left us too soon; but we leave all to Allah.

I want you to know that the lamp you left is burning stronger each day and it continues to shine upon us.

May you enjoy the Divine light of Heaven in eternal peace. May God enlighten our paths everyday towards the Truth!
